Following the opening of our first regional office in Manchester, Tim talks to Insurance Business about increasing our regional profile

“It was always part of our plan that we would look to service both the London market and the regional broker market within the UK”

2020 got off to an exciting start as we opened our first regional office in Manchester and introduced two new senior underwriters to our growing team. It’s hard to believe that less than three years ago Ensurance began its life as three people in a hotel lobby.

Although opening a regional office has always been the plan, Tim explained to Insurance Business magazine that the team worked closely with regional brokers to ensure they understood exactly the kind of support they valued and how Ensurance could deliver this.  He said that at the core, “both London and regional brokers are simply looking to provide their clients with the best advice possible and the best solutions for the risks they have”.

In specialist sectors such as ours it is rare for two risks to be the same; brokers need to be confident that the partner they are working with can provide high quality technical underwriting capabilities, expert advice, excellent products and robust capacity.  This confidence can only be earned through the development of strong relationships between us and our partners, and this can be difficult to achieve from a single central office.  Our new office gives us more opportunities to develop these relationships with a number of quality brokers we know are based in the region.

Tim finished with a glimpse at what the year ahead holds for Ensurance, stressing that we are keen to continue to grow and build on the strong foundations we have laid within the terrorism and construction specialisms, adding new lines only where we can deliver genuine value to both the capacity provider and  broker.
